Yesterday the power company acknowledged that $8600 for five days' worth of power seemed to be a mistake.
So then they said that the real "budget plan" amount should be $860 a month. WTF?!?! I have a tiny little rowhouse. It's not even air conditioned. What the hell do they think I'm manufacturing in there that I'm going to draw $860/month in electric? When I laughed and told them that clearly, that was a mistake too, they said they can't change what the "budget plan" says. Uh huh. So I'm off the "budget plan," and my bill dropped to $13. A little more like it.
