Friday night

Friday afternoon I got inspired for some spontaneous fun and recruited my girlfriend E for an evening out. We were armed with coupons for a cheap evening of improv comedy in a part of town neither of us frequents often, so needed to find a good place nearby for a drink and a bite.

Luckily E turned up a great little Turkish restaurant around the corner from the improv where we feasted on a delicious veggie sampler and I tried out a wickedly good peach cocktail as we listened to the bellydancing music in the back room get louder as the night warmed up.

We finally tore ourselves from the stools and headed around the corner only to find out that the improv had sold out. Boo! We tried finding a movie, but had no luck. So we located a free paper and narrowed our choices down to a comedy night. We had to rush to get there, so it meant some fast walking and then snagging a cab for the rest of the way.

The comedy was nothing to write home about, but was certainly an entertaining way to spend the evening. One incredibly drunk couple got into it with one comedian, things got a bit nasty and the drunk hurled his drink at the comedian. Security dragged the couple out before things got worse. Two shows for the price of one!
