stumping for the 2008 campaign 2006-09-21 - 8:39 a.m. Last night I went to hear Rudy Giuliani speak. I figured it would be an interesting talk for sure and figured that I would probably like a fair lot of what he had to say. I figured he'd focus on some issues and try to keep it reasonably non-partisan since he was there with a non-partisan political affairs education group. Hoooo boy was I wrong. Through most of his talk I had to hold myself in my seat to keep from either storming out or throttling him. It was a campaign sort of speech, beating the war drum, supporting the patriot act and defending the heck out of Bush. Times when he talked about 9/11, I was able to calm down because he certainly did have a lot of interesting things to say about his experiences then. But for a good 80% or more of the talk I was pretty disgusted. Next month we're going to hear Barack Obama. That should be much more my speed. Pretend it's 10th grade.
