I sat by myself at the Chinese restaurant paying too much attention to my book, inadvertently chewing my own fortune.

I fueled up early so I wouldn't have to stop for gas in Maryland.

I dodged swords and gunfire and got to play the part of the monster and the friend, the painter, sleeper, student, sometimes-lover.

not necessarily in that order

I should play hookey more often.
