Responsiblometer

I have an upper limit on my responsiblometer.

I can watch the needle creep up in fits and starts like a tachometer, climbing slowly, dropping rapidly, and building again.

But when I've got my act together in one area, something else has got to give.

I sent my taxes in early but I still haven't gotten the furnace chimney inspected.

I took the car in for inspection and scheduled maintenance but I chipped the paint with the edge of the snow shovel.

I finish a big project at work while I'm surfing the net for various ways to tie a sarong.

Now I find out that I'm getting inducted into an honor society. I wonder what I will do to balance that out. Will I forget to wear pants to the ceremony?
