tangerine ramble

tangerines have an unreasonable number of seeds.
and if there is any reason to nature,
which reason tells us
there must somehow reasonably be,
then there is a reason for their number.

Thus, we must consider
that the tangerine
is, as a fruit,
somehow under attack
and must multiply radically
to survive more than minimally.
Survival of the fittest seeds.

Or that the conditions
are somehow less fair
for the tangerine
than for grapefruit or orange.
Fruit discrimination?
Or a fruit less size is not as fair as she.

Rise up, tangerines, and overcome.
